Aoife Griffin -a talented musician and dancer loves to harness that power with a broad audience of fellow music lovers and passionate musicians alike. Ever since a young age, Aoife Griffin has found great joy and satisfaction in making music and sharing it with people all over the world. Aoife Griffin is a Fiddle Player, Teacher, and Sean Nós Dancer who hails from Fourmilehouse, Co.Roscommon, Ireland. Aoife is currently in her second year of a Joint BA in Traditional Irish Music and Gaeilge, in the Irish World Academy, based in the University of Limerick. She has been teaching music in Roscommon since 2015, and has recently established the Roscommon School of Traditional Irish Music and Dance. Aoife has travelled extensively performing and teaching at numerous festivals and Fleadhanna, including the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention, Clifden Trad Fest, Feile Strokestown, The Seán Óg Weekend, Tullamore Trad Fest and many others.
Founded by Aoife Griffin in 2018, Roscommon School of Traditional Irish Music is her latest endevour to spark a revival of traditional music among the Youth of County Roscommon. The school currently offers specialised private and group lessons across a range of instruments including Fiddle, Bodhrán, Concertina, Tin-Whistle, Flute and Keyboard, and also offers classes in Sean Nós Dancing. The School of music also runs weekly music sessions for young musicians across a range of musical abilities as well as the recently established 'Club Cheoil' which acts as a platform for young musicians to flourish in an extremely social environment.
